• Lords of Larceny: Fools Rush In

Here it is, my first fully complete Tabletop Roleplaying Game. “Lords of Larceny: Fools Rush In”.

This is a game where you and your RPG group take on the roles of various medieval minstrels, bards, jesters, and travelling performers undertaking ridiculous heists, and absurd adventures.

Lords of Larceny was written in about an hour, then typed up in about 30 minutes, it’s a single page comedy RPG that should be good fun for 1-4 sessions. The PDF, and MS Paint designed character sheet should be available below, I have a lot more to add to this post but that will have to wait for some other time as I’m honestly just too excited to finally release a game, and it’s currently late at night I have work in the morning.

  • Fools Rush In

When I started this blog, sometime in November 2022 I made a resolution: I’m not going to launch it until I have a game to release.

On that fateful day in November I truly thought that by the end of that week I’d have a game ready to release, as you’ll note, this post is being published in March, 2023. The reason for that is, I was simply too ambitious. I’d given myself two weeks to write an RPG – Lost Lords of Thellia, a bittersweet medieval fantasy RPG.

That RPG ballooned into a project larger than I anticipated. Lost Lords of Thellia was supposed to be a bite sized piece of an older, even more blown out passion project called Sacred Bronze. I stepped back from Sacred Bronze because it became too large for me to handle at that point, and I’d also burned myself out revising the rules for casting spells over and over again.

However, my step back from Lost Lords of Thellia wasn’t intentional, it was primarily laziness and time just slipped right past me, and I lost the momentum I’d built up.

That was, until yesterday. I had some free time at work, nothing to read, and I was sick of doomscrolling, feeling invigorated by my plans to play single page RPGs with my friends I decided to try my hand at writing my own. – It worked, I wrote most of an RPG in about an hour and today I had even better RPG and I wrote the whole thing in an hour, then went home, typed it up and 40 minutes later, it’s done, I had a character sheet mocked up. It’s not related to any of the aforementioned projects, but I’ll leave the details of it for the release post.
